I believe Lee is a stand up guy. I really do, but Miles has done this. At times, he and Crowton have put the whole game on Lee's shoulders, and in turn, he hasn't produced. When Lee gets too excited or plays poorly, Miles keeps him in there, and he continues to struggle. He didn't even put in Jefferson in for hand offs just to calm Lee down and coach him up. He let Lee make really, really bad mistakes, and Lee takes most of the blame (in many cases, rightfully so).

I feel bad for the guy, and I pull for him every game, but he's is playing awful.

The bottom line is Perilloux left us in a pickle. The coaches have very little to work with; it is not beyond the realm of reason to believe the coaches believed playing Lee gave us a better chance at the win Saturday than Jefferson. Play a QB with experience who may have finally got the kinks worked out, or play a QB with no experience against one of the best defensive minds in the game... Not much of a choice.

I think this week Lee would profit from some time on the sideline if he struggles. Maybe Jefferson would be awesome in replacement, but I wouldn't bet money on the opposite.

It is sickening to see so many fans act like babies and lash out at a young tiger who is obviously struggling. We are in a sh*t position and there was little we could have done within reason that would change it. It is funny to hear so many here absolutely positive that Lee is garbage. How many times in college football do we see young QBs struggle and then blossom later in their careers?

No doubt this hurt loss, no doubt watching Lee was painful, but suck it up. We're in a tough position right now. I'm usually very critical of coaches, so when I say things like this you know folks have lost it. I guess some of us just don't handle adversity well.

    Great post

I agree with you on the fans, I feel sorry for him. He is 19 and most 19 year olds can't be trusted to clean their rooms:lol: and yet people expect him to be the best. I think he is trying to do that.

Yep, I think that is what everyone needs to remember.

I will continue to support him and the rest of the Tigers.

I believe he is on a medical redshirt right now, correct me if I am wrong.

At the beginning of the year he was, I don't know about now.

I don't think anyone would disagree with this post. Most of the criticism comes from the failure to give Jefferson more playing time, particularly in games against such teams as Tulane.

I'm pretty sure Jefferson's medical redshirt possibility was burnt with the Tulane game.

JPW has never been more than a mediocre QB, and was never, ever a Heisman candidate.

What I take from this thread is that alot of people are apologist here for Lee.

Second, its the receivers fault? Not Lees?

All I have to say to that is, the defense gave us a chance to win this game.

we still have won five of the last 6 meetings and two Crystal balls, they still have to get that far. it will take them another 4 years of beating us IN A ROW and TWO BCS NC's to get to break even with us.

I'll take anyone's bet they cant do it. even with Saban's help.

    Go home gumps.

I completely understand that Lee is indeed young. He does have talent, it shows. I didnt have the highest expectations this season because I knew LSU wouldnt be quite so stable at QB. Despite all that, there is a lot of other factors that are a bit disheartening. No matter what anyone wants to say, Crowton has not called good plays this season. He isnt coaching to the talent he has, instead trying to be the Wizard. Had his play calling been better LSU could have possibly beaten either UGA or Bamma, possibly both. There is no excuse NOT to have brought Jefferson in. He brings the new dimension of running. Plus he couldnt play any worse than Lee. LSU needed a spark, JJ may have brought that. I totally agree with Lee being the starter. It was obvious though he was a detriment to the team. Im all for sticking with your guys but there comes a time when you have to try someone else out. JJ lost his possible redshirt on a boneheaded move last week. No matter what anyone says JJ should have been put in the game just to see if he could spark them. Poor coaching.

Overall the coaching is a large part to blame because of the D as well and lack of accountability with players. LSU lacks discipline.
