Sign her up! :insane: Crowton deserves a little criticism for the 2nd half play calling. If I counted correctly, we had 27 rushes and 16 passes in the first half. Probably about the right ratio with Lee's ability. In the second half we rush 19 times and pass 18 times. That just doesnt seem like the right ratio considering our players skill sets. Further, we only had 47 yards rushing in the second half after torching them for 150+ the first half. Crowton gets too cute at times.
from Dandy Don today: "On the flip side of things, as bad as Lee played, LSU would have won the game if LSU wide receivers would have done a better job catching the ball. Chris Mitchell dropped a perfectly thrown pass that would have been a touchdown, Brandon LaFell failed to catch two well thrown passes and Demetrius Byrd should have caught a pass that was intercepted and setup Alabama's first touchdown." It's not all Lee's fault. That said, I guess all of these JJ fans are peering over the fence at practice and seeing things in him that Miles is to stupid to see? Sheesh. It's unfortunate that RP got kicked off (he deserved it). It put JL in the starting role way before he was ready. However, when Miles says he gives us the best chance to win, I have to believe him. None of us are more qualified than he to make that call.
1. Running game sets up the pass... not the other way around. We have a running game. Our passing game has no control over Scott or Keiland going up the middle for 5 or 6 almost every time. 2. The way they are used certain occasions... Scott and Keiland go up the middle for their big runs. They are big and physical. Also and occasional screen pass to Keiland. Murphy, Ridley and Holiday go to the outside on runs... 3. balanced offense would work if we had a balance offense..... we dont. We have a awesome running game with once and a while pass for a completion. Football is not a science. 4. She was just pointing out the obvious. As many many tiger fans can see.
Completely false. The opponent's defense has 11 men on the field - if they are all dedicated to stopping the run because we don't throw then that severely affects our ability to run. I have no idea what you're trying to say. It's a lot more complicated than you give it credit for.
Bama started stopping our run much more affectively in the 2nd half, which is why we started throwing more. If Bama holds us to 47 yards rushing in the second half, how is Crowton getting too fancy by throwing the ball?
IMHO, he gave up on it too soon in the second half. I think the yards and plays would have come if we stick to that first half ratio. Wear their azzes out with our line.
You're right CP. LSU did the same thing to us in the first half. We ran well the first drive then y'all started committing eight and nine to the run and we couldn't do anything until the second half where we got most of our rushing yards. It is very hard to stay committed to the run and stay competitive when a team is stacking the line with nine players.
Neither OL was going to do that against either one of the DL's. I'm sorry. It sounds great but wasn't going to happen. When we stacked the box we were getting to Scott two and three yards behind the line consistently. Y'all were doing the same to us. Both of our defenses are too strong to do that.
Every time a third and long came up, i closed my eyes anticipating the play... I knew a pass over the middle was coming up. Either an INT, dropped pass or a pass to no one. Do you think Lee wants to throw the ball in that situation? He doesnt. He too hesitant and not settled. Is it something that Gary is making him do? Why even give it a consideration given the past history of incompletes and INTs. When a baby touches a hot stove, it knows not to touch it again. If that situation comes up run it or throw it long. at least it wont be a pick six.
