The problem with JJ, if he's told to throw to that one guy and if that guy is covered, JJ wouldn't know what to do. He either panicked and fling the football down field, or run back and get sacked. He's not a very smart QB.

Funny how last week, many were jumping on Miles, and now everyone, even the pumpers, are piling on JJ (not that either choice isn't warranted).

I'm not ready to throw Jordan Jefferson under the bus, but we need to see Jarrett Lee in a meaningful game situation to know where he's at, especially if Jefferson gets in a bad slump.

There's a right way to handle this, and a wrong way. What you gotta do, keep Jefferson as your starter, but maybe, plan to put Lee in for the first offensive possession of the 2nd quarter against Miss. State and call plays as normal. Don't just yank Jefferson if he throws two incompletions in a row or throws a pick or makes a bonehead play. Don't white-knuckle or micro-manage Lee, let him play.

We're probably not gonna do this, but if we were, that would probably be the best way to handle it.

I think it really is both but more urgently it is the QB. He is ineffective and the horrifying thing is we don't have another option.

Yes. It's the same thing I said last year, good enough to get you 8-10 wins if you put top 5 talent around him.

The problem is up in the booth, remove Crowton, then Lee would be the QB to get you to either SC or NC or both. IMHO As long as Crowton is there, it really doesn't matter.

it's tough to see how (if) we've improved when your qb has an off night like this.

yes i do think it was an off night, because normally jj throws catchable balls, and doesn't fumble or drop snaps.

Anyone remember these stats from an LSU Spring game and the QB?

Tossing five interceptions, taking two sacks and reaching the opponent’s red zone only twice.

Wake up. The problem is Jefferson scattering passes all around his receivers.

Yeah, on WWL Jordy interviewed CLM and he more than hinted that JL will probably be getting some snaps....and soon.

Look, I'm definitely not trying to pile on JJ and I hate how on forums when someone lashes out against someone, then it's like the other posters smell blood and it turns into a feeding frenzy. I'm NOT trying to join in on the "feeding frenzy" against JJ, but he just isn't cutting it. Those receivers were sick to their stomachs every time JJ threw one at their ankles or behind them.

Jarrett Lee is a grown ass man. He's been through alot of shiit and he's STILL at LSU. He's taken his lumps, he's learned from them and he's ballsed up and ready to rock. I have more respect for JL than I do anyone in the history of this program.

Have I ever dog-cussed JL? Yes (in the privacy of my own home....NOT at TS or at a road game). I'm guilty of spitting venom at the kid....but I think he's ready for a shot. If not start him, then give him some meaningful snaps at the bare minimum. Worst case scenario, he throws a pick 6 or two and you put JJ back in the starting rotation and JJ has a fire lit under him.

You have to give JL a shot here. I would probably give him a shot against State or WVU.

    Just my .02
