Dude, I say give JL another shot, but to expect he is ready to go is a stretch, especially since your reasoning is based on ONE pass, and JJ's bad play. The same way everyone shifted from being pro JJ these past two weeks to being anti-JJ, it will happen again with JL if he reverts to his old habits. Perhaps JJ is reverting to old habits because he either just doesn't get it OR, God forbid, it's due to poor QB coaching. If it is the coaching, reverting to previous habits is quite likely for JL as well. I say give him a shot if JJ can't get anything going next week, but don't expect that he "is ready to go," because the odds are he won't come out of the gate throwing TDs like many seem to think all of a sudden. If this wasn't Vandy, but maybe Bama or even Auburn, I might not be as concerned. I still say give him the start next week, but don't wait until it's too late to try someone else.
I'll take 300 yards passing and two INT's versus 100 yards passing against the worst team in the SEC. We may see a better D against McNeese ...
I think alot of it has to do with all the talk in the offseason about jj progressing, becoming a leader, and it seems to be all hype....i;m not ready to throw him under the bus just yet but i am taking him to a greyhound station
Yes besides bad game plan/call management Crowton has not done well developing QBs. Both JL & JJ have tools. There is no excuse for them to have such limited improvement.
Yeah that would be the final nail in the coffin that your OC doesn't have a clue. That is not an offense, especially the way LSU runs it. They do no options off of the main play.
Even when one of the INTs is giving the other team points? The good thing about JJ is that he doesn't make a lot of bad plays. The bad thing about JJ is that he doesn't make a lot of plays. JL scares me to death, and I guess that is why I am not so apt to jump on his side. I fear that LSU's struggles could really increase with him at QB, and if you try to give it back to JJ, he will be in a fetal position mentally.
