He was the same old Jefferson in the spring game. He is the same old Jefferson in the first 2 games this season. He has NOT improved significantly. He has no incentive to do better if he knows he won't be benched for poor play.
I completely agree. Also, as poor as he's been, it's NOT going to hurt us to let Lee have some meaningful snaps. Maybe Lee is the answer.
So how is it possible two kids can have the same college professors and one goes on to become a great surgeon while the other ends up waiting tables? They are two different people with different skills sets, different backgrounds, different capabilities and different levels of motivation. It's the internal drive that sets people apart. That's why two people can have the same opportunities and one makes the most of it while the other pisses it away. In my opinion, at this point Lee is better positioned for this role than JJ. Lee has gone through incredible adversity and never gave up. He has come to work every day put in the effort. He has not made waves and he never moved on although I'm sure he has had ample opportunity to do both. At the very least he has earned the opportunity for meaningful playing time and not just some mop up duty when the game is already in hand.
I truly hope that Les Miles will announce today or tomorrow that the the QB job is now up for grabs, and the starter will be a game time notification. - Throw some curve balls at State - See what Gonzo can do with Lee & The 1st team O - See how JJ responds to possibly losing his job & this steam - See how the rest of the team responds - & Most Importantly, see how J-Lee responds OH YA, and how can I forget: SEE HOW THIS BOARD RESPONDS!!!! :thumb:
Considering Jefferson is ranked 107th, you would think more people would WANT to try something else....
That sure was a pretty pass from Lee, a dart right on target. Now many people, myself included, think he deserves a chance to play more and prove what he can do. That was also a very nice catch by Randle. Suppose for an instant that Lee makes the same exact throw, but Randle lets it bounce off his hands and go up in the air. BINGO, interception very likely. Not one person here would ever want to see Lee play again. It really is a fine line between being successful and failing. Sad thing is, much of it is determined by how we perceive things to be. I think we should give him a shot and see what he can do. There is a very good chance it would make them both better quarterbacks.:tigereye:
Jefferson has 2 TD's and 2 Picks YTD.....Passing Yards are being predicted to be DOWN 31% this year: Jordan Jefferson Stats, Splits, News, Photos - LSU Tigers - NCAA College Football - ESPN Completion rate is DOWN 5% from last year.....His longest pass EVER is 58 yards At this point, I'm willing to try one of the walk ons
