So funny... the sheep brandish the word "liberal" around like "boogeyman". Boo! The liberal is going to get you if you don't watch out! People stuck on that second level (the level below free thought) are quite fond of cheap slogans. Their minds have no room for subtley or nuance. They can't grasp that one woman who broke a law does not represent all who cherish personal liberties, human dignity, and honest governments. What's a liberal, TigerAndrew? Be concise.
A liberal is, politically: One in favor of big government and far-reaching, all-encompassing social programs One against war, sometimes at all costs One who supports heavily taxing the rich in order to fund their social programs One who supports "free speech", in the case of anti-American, anti-government, anti-war propaganda yet fights to censor speech they don't agree with, such as anti-abortion protests, judges displaying ten commandments on his robe, teaching of creation in the classroom
So, Andrew, you know for a fact that that woman is against war at all costs, wants to tax the rich to fund social programs, wants to outlaw anti-abortion speech, and teaching creation in the classroom? Your definition doesn't even make sense... it's not anti-American to oppose judges wearing the Ten Commandments on their robes or to oppose teaching creationism in the classroom... it's very PRO-American Constitution to oppose those things. It's also very PRO-American to protest a war started on lies. When did opposing war become a bad thing? By the way, how old are you, and why aren't you serving in Iraq?
cmon dont go down the stupid road. favoring something doesnt mean you have to do it. i favor having cops but that doesnt mean i do it myself. arguing this further will only result in my making you look stupid, so end it here.
I will bet lots of money that 3 of 4 of those are true. Yes it is. The judge is expressing himself through speech. People who oppose that are as bad as people who oppose and want to suppress gay and homosexual rights activists' speech. 23. I applied for both the Navy and the Air Force while in college. I was on a particular type of medication then which disqualified me from service in any branch of the military. While I am no longer on that medication, I now have a wife, a child, and a house. To that end, it would not currently be in the best interests of my family to volunteer for the Armed Forces at this juncture. If conscripted through Selective Service, I will grumble about the loss of income, but will happily serve my country.
If you're able-bodied and support a war then, yes, honor and integrity compel you to be willing to serve. So, Andrew, I don't want to hear about Army or Reserve enlistment shortages without you running down to volunteer, OK?
"willing to serve" is not the same as volunteering. and i would guess that every one of us here would be "willing to serve" if drafted.
