Let's see, two major hurricanes and about half the labor pool they had before Katrina, and not one fan was severely effected by the construction, I'd say they've done a bang up job on the thing. Who gives a crap if they're missing some paint or a bathroom or two.
Yeah, all that is being done all along the coast is cleaning up. Just washing away the dirt and water that the storm brought in. But hey, who cares about all of those people in the vast area impacted by Katrina anyways huh? Right on man, right on... :dis:
A lot of us here never realistically expected them to complete it by the beginning of last season though. The completion date seemed VERy ambitious at the time. Of course, they did set that date and you are correct that they probably should have met the deadline. yet none of us were really surprised when they said they would be finishing up throughout the season instead.
The construction was never supposed to be completed for last September, they said all along that they would be working on it this summer, from the very beginning.
The Yates construction sign is still up outside of TS, you can see for yourself it says expected completion date - Sept. 05.
My problem is not that it is taking longer than estimated due to a lack of workers, but that they keep screwing up - delaying the project.
Really just curious. I know there was problems with one of the support beams for the seats right before last season. That was going to delay things to the point where almost a whole section of upper deck seating woudl not be available for the first game.
