Shouldn't be too surprised. It's not the first time in recent history that they've deluded themselves into believing something so preposterous (re: 2003).
This is a BIG, BIG issue with the boosters and trustee's right now. Kiffin's buyout was 800K if he left but 7 Mil if he was fired. Monte and O was zero. Additionally, Monte got a 200K longevity bonus 2 weeks ago. BWAHAHA!
This has been such a wild story. Had someone suggested this a few days ago we would've thought they were nuts. I know Tennessee is rightfully upset but ultimately they will be the winners in this fiasco. I'm not sure how this guy is so highly considered by some teams but I think he's living off his dad's success and is just a little immature jerk. When I heard some of the names mentioned for USC, I thought a few of them had the ability to beat the weak Pac-1 schools that Pete Carroll had a tendency to lose to. That bothered me as I wasn't interested in seeing them having an opportunity to play for the BCS title after winning a weak Pac-1. Now I'm happy as I'm very confident that Lane Kiffen will not only fail at USC but provide further ammo to add to their violations. Winning the Pac-1 is a much easier challenge for him then attempting to win the SEC. Either way, I believe he'll fail. I wonder how long it will take him to put his foot in his mouth again. Saban couldn't cut it so he dropped back to college football. Kiffen couldn't cut it so he's going back to high school football. :lol:
