"10)Makes some poor choices off the field"

That's one thing I'm curious to see how it's handled this spring. In the past, coordinators have met with some of the booster clubs in different cities a time or two in the spring. It's quite easy to imagine a comment hitting the message board circuit and within a day it's...

Strong reached out to Orgeron just after he was hired only to find there was no interest.

Saban and Orgeron have been talking for several days now. The conversations have turned up a notch in the last 24 hours.

In some ways, his self-deprecating humor works. He can be very uncomfortable in his own skin though. Sun Bowl pic.....

Lane almost never wears sunglasses on the field. Hmmm....shiner under there?

And I will say this....he burned his USC bridge the way he did Kennedy Pola. That was the last straw for me.

If Lane was not Monty's son, no one would give 2 shytes about someone who otherwise would be an obscure high school coach in Nowheresville, USA.

This is an attitude I simply don't understand. I never have understood it to be honest.

It started when Al Davis hired him to coach Oakland. Yet, no one wants to acknowledge the point Davis had hired guys his age, with his experience, on more than one occasion. He did so with Gruden, with Shanahan, and with John Madden.

They point to his record at Oakland and choose to ignore Norv Turners record preceding him. I can't think of the guys name that replaced Kiffin in Oakland but I do recall he didn't do much better.

Here's another thing I find amusing. While people here point to his record at Oakland and try to use that as a prognostication on how he'll do as an offensive coordinator, how many of these same people pointed to the losing streak Cam Cameron had in Miami when they were excited about him taking the OC position in Baton Rouge?

Here's something to chew on as well. Bill O'Brien has been dealing with the same sanctions as Kiffin. Yet, he's done a good job and Kiffin didn't?
