Exactly....agents...people that want players to leave, not stay and play. You won't find me praising PC,his ego, or some of his decisions. Particularly the choice he made to bail.

Coaches don't get fired for overall records. What have you done for me lately? It's about winning and expectations. Down the stretch Lane was 4-7 with losses to both ucla and notre dame. We had an embarrassing loss to Ga Tech in the Sun Bowl and Lane's behavior there along with some stupid comments by our players was disappointing. Follow that up with the Wazzu loss at home, a QB who looked like he was afraid to play, and getting ass raped by ASU and it was clear he had to go.

He is a control freak. He didn't allow the assistants and coordinators to do their job. He overruled everybody. After 4 years, he wouldn't let Barkley call audibles. He had a whistle he would blow at Barkley and Barkley would have to look at the sideline and change the play call. We had so many delay of game penalties that season. I don't even know what the Denny's menu was for. He only called 2 plays...bubble screen and run up the middle on 3rd and long. His reputation off-campus wasn't exactly stellar either.

How long does this take nick to find out how big of a mistake this hire is? He should know this by now. This one I just don't get.
Somehow I'm thinking this goes deeper than football

I'm not sure how I feel about the hire. I've gone back and forth a few times weighing the pro's and the con's. It'll work, or it won't work. It's not like I have a choice one way or another. I'm still not a big fan of Lance Thompson's and can't say I was overjoyed when he returned to Bama. He's doing his job and staying out of the trouble he got himself into before he "left."

I'm certainly looking forward to a game on October 25th. The fact this hits UT the way it does makes is definitely one of the pro's.

IF he's as good at the X's and O's as Saban believes he is those laughing today won't be enjoying the last laugh.

Can you expound on that thinking a bit?

If kiffen can heck his ego at the door, it will be a good hire. Saban is a good personality to train him. If I'm a two bit hillbilly methhead bama fan, i like the hire. Thankfully I'm not.

Personally I love the hire, he hasn't been anywhere without boat loads of trouble......named his son Knox and wasn't even at UT long enough to unpack his bags, he strikes me as a desperate yes man and the perfect Saban doormat.

Thought the same thing! Two of college football's biggest A-holes on the same team… Makes beating them extra fun!

I think this is the best perspective to have. Things I believe about Kiffin.....
    1) Control freak but if given ONE task, he can do very well.
    2) He spent most of his young life at Monte's side and his entire career/life has been about football. He's not football stupid.
    3) He wants desperately to succeed.
    4) Desperation leads him to make some strange decisions
    5) Paralysis by analysis
    6) When he gains a player's loyalty, they are devoted
    7) Great recruiter
    8) Works well with a tight rein
    9) Better in the booth than on the field
10)Makes some poor choices off the field
11)Tigerchick was right....he is almost universally despised by fans of the places he has been

This might be a good place for him....or he might figure out how to screw up a decent offense. He will be in the game luring top QB's from anywhere in the country.
