Yuck. I would not hire him at LSU. I don't trust him. Sum bitch would be gone in a day if something else came along. As far as going to Bama...is there any bad blood between Kiffy and O? He wanted to stay at USC after his master got fired. (I mean master in a gay sexual dominance way, not in a racial way)

I'm not aware of any. That seems like a question better suited for @uscvball

Joe Schad make a comment last night about the possibility of O going back to USC. He seems in favor.
The thing about Schad...I think he offers some good opinions at times but he's rarely one to be in front of a story.

At Bama that is not a problem , and as far as who Saban hires that is not a problem to me or for LSU . The LSU players have to get the mind set that they can beat Bama .Maybe that starts with us the fans .
Saban is as I say . A smart man , not a great coach . You need proof . Ok ,there was a reason he did not go to Texas. He knew that he could not get all the players he would need at Texas. A&M will get most of the players they want in Texas. Good coach he got his 1 second put back on the clock in the Auburn game . He went for the win , it back fired , LOL smart man , good coach . FACT: The last two games his team has played he was out coached . So he is looking for the spark that will jump start his team again. he is a bit old , and he needs to change so he is trying to do what "THE BEAR' did . It will be a fun season his team wil lose 3 games this season .

I don't think there is any bad blood between the two. I think they get along fine. The irony is that Ed O created interim coach success for USC basically being the anti-Kiffin. To his credit, he did it without giving lip service to the horrible job Kiffin did.

At this point, I don't see O coming back. He wanted to be the head coach. We have a DC in Wilcox. I can see no way that O comes back to be a line coach particularly when he has trust issues with Haden.

Agree 100% kiffen aint all that either. Everyone is giving him credit for USC but they forget Norm Chow was the OC behind that success not Lame

That's not what everyone has been referring to with his time at USC. Chow left in 2004. Kiffin was WR coach when Chow was OC. Kiffn took the OC job in 2005-2006 and USC went 23-3 in those two seasons.

There has been discussions about how much of that was Sark and how much was Kiffin.

Chow gets credit for the Carson Palmer turnaround. He was also very instrumental in the 2003 season success. I would say that 2004 was a group effort. Chow, Kiffin, Sarkisian all contributed but ultimately 3 folks can't share all that and Chow got pushed out. He hasn't exactly had massive success since then. He's currently 4-15 in conference play at Hawaii. They haven't sucked this bad....maybe ever.

What's funny is that when conversation comes around these years, it's always about the productive offense and it was. But IMO, the defense is what carried the day. In 2004, USC outscored opponents 496-169. The offense put up 5,838 yards but held opponents to 4,069. We had a few close games that season and it was our defense that made the key stops and held scoring to a minimum. We had 6 All Americans, and 4 were on the defense.

Kiffin can do one thing really well. When asked to expand responsibility, he short circuits.

Alot of people forget that USC's defense was in my opinion the reason they were so dominant in the Pac during the Pete Carroll era. Sure they had some superstars on offense, but hell every team in the Pac does. USC was really the only team in that league with a dominant defense.
