What a joke. The Republican president and republican congress go to war and some democrats show support after being lied to. Then after the entire rationale for war is proven false, after the situation on the ground goes completely haywire, and the leaders are proven to be completely incompetent . . . two things happen. 1. Pragmatists with some perception see the new facts and change their positions in order to deal with the new situation. 2. Self-convinced idealists with misplaced resolve stay their losing course, pursue failed policies doggedly, and dig the hole deeper and deeper. You can ride the hellbound train if you want to but the rest of the country is not. Bad example for your argument. We paid for WWII with higher taxes, bought War Bonds, recycled, and endured rationing. Bush cut taxes, rationed nothing, and sold no War Bonds. Instead we go deep into debt by selling Treasury notes to China. And we're less trusted and admired by everybody, allies and enemies alike. Worse, we are less respected and feared by our enemies and our weakness in guerilla warfare has been exposed. The Shock and Awe of the Kuwait War has faded from memory. Small groups of international criminals now think they can take us. If we are going to be leader of the free world we must lead by example. We must have allies who are willing to follow. Because of Bush, our allies no longer trust our judgement or our values. If you don't recognize this as a problem, then you are politically blind.
Nahh Amigo, if there is one cat I know not to try and discredit on this fiasco of a message board its the "Red the link oracle 55". You just seem a lil far out there on the left brother, trying to reel you back in a lil. I just can't believe that with your "understanding" of socialism you are letting Barack pull this snow job on you.
I'm not an Obama supporter, just an observer. And equating democrats to socialists just doesn't wash. I can win this argument in less than two links.
The intelligence community that was still in place from the Clinton administration provided the same info to Bush and the Dems after 911. Pretty much everyone agreed to go to war. Sure Bush takes the heat because he was President at the time but it wasn't his "administration" that gathered the bad intelligence. The Dems have found it politically convenient to put on this charade. Whether the war was wrong or right isn't the issue now, it's about leaving Iraq stable. The right thing to do is get them on their feet. Is Iran pursuing nukes or not? If so then what do you propose we do?
I'm not a Democrat. I'm a registered Independent. And the remark has nothing to do with elitism or common sense. It has to do with feigned ignorance from someone who knows better.
Not with me you can't, but thats because I'm tete deur. and for the record, not all dems, just those two, for now.
