"same ole, hate and fear campaign"...I thought that was the Democrats' strategy.

Don't they usually say the following to scare people into voting for them...

    If you elect a Republican...

*your welfare check will be reduced
*your food stamps will be cut
*your housing assistance will be slashed
*you may have to work for a living
    *quota programs will end
    *medicare will end
    *you'll have to learn English
    *your abortions won't be funded
    *bus service will end
    *social programs will be disolved
    *gay marriage will be banned
    *desegregation will cease

They scare poor, uneducated people into believing that if they vote Republican they'll be poor and uneducated...and many of these people are too poor and uneducated to realize they're getting screwed! :insane:

I was a Democrat until I starting paying taxes. It was at that time that I saw the light. I'll continue to work and defend this country even if a large number of Democrats want to live on welfare or burn the flag. Hopefully someday they'll lay off the "medicinal" marijuana and stop with the whining self pity BS.

I'm not sure if simply saying "hope" or "change" means much without substance and so far, there hasn't been any substance.

I think it's sad that a country with a population of 300 million people has to choose from Obama, Clinton, or McCain. We CAN do better!

You must have been asleep when John Kerry ran for President.

No, I was awake when the republicans swift boated a decorated veteran while they supported a chicken hawk incumbent administation, and took 30 years of senate service and twisted it with the coined phrase "flip-flop" so now watching them support someone who is flip flopping even more is quite enjoyable.

Kerry couldn't relate to most of america, and was a poor communicator, but regardless, even if he embellished his service record slightly, he still saw combat and was wounded.

The only combat W. saw in service was his battle with a hangover and absenteism from the Guard.

Just my opinion, but I don't think he would have been the candidate of choice for the GOP. I know he wasn't and still isn't mine. 12 years ago, maybe and that is the point. He has changed positions and changed again and so on. I sure wish Fred would have gotten in earlier. Bottom line is you have to play the cards you are dealt and I'll take him only because my other two choices are socialist. Yes Amigo, I said it again and will continue to say it. It is what it is and HC, and or BO = Socialist

Then why did they choose him? He just wasn't your choice.

On this we can agree, I supported McCain as a moderate in 2000, a lot of us did. But practically none of us are this time because he decided to walk in Dubya's shoes instead of his own.

Buy a dictionary and educate yourself, friend. I already shredded this argument in another thread. You make your political opponents into bogeymen with meaningless name-calling and now your political candidate is a bogeyman, too.

Again, he aint My bogeyman. He is what the rest of the nation has given the GOP. Why? beats the hell out of me. I don't think he is anywhere close to wearing dubyas shoes. He is far too left for my liking. However, he isn't socialist so with a clothes pin on my nose I will vote Johnny MC

and again, I'm not making policy for either of those two. I don't care what college they went to, who their daddy was or wasn't. It is what it is. Socialism is socialism. You see it your way and I see it mine and I can call someone to try and stop the bleeding from your heart if need be.

I said to myself that you cant possibly be this ignorant and then I reread your post. So Im come to the conclusion yep he is.

Im a Democrat and Ive never been on any government assistant programs that you list here. Educated and working on my MBA right now.

Taxes, what a poor excuse to be a Republican, so your taxes got cut fine, thats great, but we are in a huge deficit because of tax cuts and a expensive war we shouldnt be in. So they cut taxes with no way to pay for the tax cuts and the spending goes up. (George Bush)

You are argument is so contrived to the fact that you believe that the majority of Democrats are on welfare and burn flags, when did this start happening

Their are so many things wrong with your post, I dont know where to start or end.:dis:

    I'll say this.

    Sad!!!!!!

A war we shouldn't be in that MANY Democrats voted for. Oh, I forgot...they only voted for it becuase they were lied to. BS!

Democrats don't like the war because they always think the money should be used for more social programs. Maybe if we ended the war we could pay for more abortions. Because as we all know, ALL abortions are due to saving the mother and child...it NEVER has anything to do with people being irresponsible. BS!

Maybe the money should be used to pay for drug rehabilitation because it works better than incarceration. BS!

Maybe we could use the money for another job skills training program because they work so well. BS!

Maybe we could use the money for another quota program because they've worked so well. BS!

Maybe we could use the money for more ESL courses because illegal aliens really do want to learn our language and assimilate. BS!

Maybe we could use the money to print more textbooks with revisionist history to change the things we didn't like about the past.

Maybe we could use the money for a redistribution of wealth because everyone knows that the wealtiest 1% are all demons and everybody else who earns a decent living got there by knowing someone or being white.

There are many reasons that I rarely vote Democrat and taxes are only one of them. I don't believe in Socialism, I don't believe in all the social programs, and I think you have every opportunity to succeed in this country. If you don't...you don't need to blame it on racism, sexism, bias, or prejudice. You simply need to look in the mirror to see where the problem lies.

The Democrits have turned into a party of whiners and blamers. They are quick to point out everyone else's failures but rarely have an answer to a problem.

I'm not happy with Bush but I think he still has a higher approval rating than the Nancy Pelosi run Congress.

I don't believe that the majority of Democrats are on public assistance but I'll bet you a few bucks that the majority of people on public assistance are Democrats. Just keep buying those votes with a little government cheese!
