If your goal is to be a first round draft pick super star, then maybe you don't want to play with Reid and TM7. They are losing lots of talent this year. We will be the favorites to beat them at TS next year. If he goes out as a jr we will only play him two more times after that. It is not going to change the fact that we are the better team. This is two years in a row that they could have five first rounders and they are still 0-2 vs LSU and 1-1 vs auburn.
Until National Signing Day (Feb. 1st I believe) no "deal" is "done"....not even out commitments... Recruiting 21st Century: "Were 'Verbal Commitments' mean squat" It's all about the publicity--getting a 17-18 year old in the national limelight for the first time. Sadly, their "word" means next to nothing....all of them (coaches included). I follow recruiting because it's the lifeblood of your program, but at the same time, I HATE the direction it's going the past decade or so...
this. it is turning into attention whoring. i said in another thread, i am not gonna worry about it. things will work out. for all we know, this kid may turn into another janzen jackson. he may not. you never know. bottom line is (as roynav said) you are either a tiger, or you are tiger bait. if he goes to the gumps, he's nothing more than someone waiting to get their ass run over on the field.
My thoughts exactly! He is obviously not a Tiger. We don't need him. I do look forward to Mett and some of our young WRs burning his little gump azz on gamedays in future seasons though. As much as I am trying to dismiss all of this, it's such a bitter pill to swallow to lose such a highly sought-after DB from our own backyard to the Gumps. Definitely didn't see this coming.
