Much fail in this. For one thing you can get a dam good one for 300. Also, for example, pigs and coons are legally hunted at night. The most important reason for me, and most, would be what I already posted. Can't hear game coming and can't be moving around when game appears out of nowhere.

As for your cost analysis, a skateboard is cheaper than a bike is cheaper than a motorcycle is cheaper than a car. They can all get you from point A to point B.

And a damn good earplug for 10 cents.

What in the world does night have to do with sound? Do bullets sound different at night?

    Uhhh, OK.

You can get "dam good" for a fraction of the price of a lot of things. Rolex watches vs. wal mart watches, etc. They'll both keep good time. Personally, on that one I prefer the wal mart dive watches but I don't criticize the man who prefers a rolex.

I told you what the most important reason is but as far as that one, when people hunt pigs at night they use different means. You can have several guys in the back of one truck. Also people sleeping get disturbed at night when they hear shots fired. In farming communities farmers welcome pig hunting. There are often houses less than a mile away from fields that border rice fields. Even closer, hired hands that the farmers house on their property.

I learned something, I always had a dim view of silencers and really questioned their use.

People that shoot up a place don't use silencers. They're looking for attn and, with the multiple magazine capacity they can carry, they can do enough damage without being quiet.

Like ANYTHING else though, there will always be some who use them in ways they shouldn't.

Another thing with pigs is you can get off multiple shots when you encounter a herd.

I just don't like the fact that this is something that has to be legislated. Seems like a waste of time. Should be legal anyway. The reason should be because we live in a free country not because a hunter has to hear pigs creeping up on him.

not true Red...I have no intention of letting anyone know if I do or do not have have weapons in my house or on my person. every country who has outlawed personal gun ownership started with a registration of those weapons.
