The litmus test for mental defect is a slippery slope. Members of the current administration have opined that anyone that owns a gun is mentally ill.

I heard the guy was trying to walk out of the theater with the crowd leaving and get away but he was recognized as the shooter by the cops and that's when he turned the gun on himself. They found wigs and sunglasses in his car so he was probably planning to escape.

im talking about trusting a government and a govt appointed shrink being the judge and jury of mental illness. parlayed with the who can or cannot have guns and trusting them to not overextend on freedoms. no thank you. theres no real way to fix this without losing something more important.

Laws only apply to those who have something to lose. That accounts for most but not all in society. It's a risk/reward paradigm.

The lawless will always have guns no matter what laws are passed restricting the rights of law abiding citizens.

He tried to get a carry permit and was denied. A carry permit requires a more thorough background check. If the same check was applied to gun purchases, it would solve a lot of problems with lunatics, terrorists, and felons just buying a gun and walking out with it.

    1. It's cheaper to find and treat them than deal with the consequence after they shoot somebody. The guy should have been on meds or in a looney bin.
    2. Better background checks to keep kooks from buying guns.

So will Bobby Jindal make the national guard protect movie theaters now?

There are no background checks on the street.

Maybe, if he remembers how to get back to Louisian
