pppppppp....Thankfully, I type about 70wpm, so I can whip them off and get them in there right under the gun...
To be honest, I think they are going overboard but I see their point. Canes should know better than to put stuff like that out. That is a disrepectful statement, they probably should stick to saying good thing about LSU instead of bad things abut the opponents.
Its a restaurant. A college restaurant to be that. Every college type restaraunt I have ever been to have put stuff like that up. It's just part of the image. Would a Sullivans ever put that up? Hell no. Its just part of Canes....They need to get a little tougher...My lord, they cry at everything...
LSUBayouBengals...COME ON? They got beat 49-10... We were up 49-3 AT THE HALF... Tell me you didn't snicker at all those Blue "Bring It On" shirts? Tell me you didn't outright laugh at the San Diego Charger "Powder Blue" band uni's? They ARE a joke, man...Sometimes, the truth hurts, but Cane's isn't exactly a conventional business, nor has it ever been...
There's a Chik-Fil-A in their student union center... I know, because many a meal plan credit was used there to taste on their absolutely delicious Chicken Nuggets with "Peloppensian Sauce"... Mmmm...Summer of 1997...Memories... Whoa...Better catch myself before I start to sound like a Bryan Adams song...
You talking about La. Tech or LSU? I have eaten at the Chick-Fil-A in the LSU Union many a time on the meal plan (actually, the points included with the actual plan ). You know, honestly, every time I have ever gone to Canes (outside of the occasional 2 AM treks), the line was always backed out into State St. I really dont think their business will suffer because a few La Tech alum dont like their sign. There have been plenty of times I went other places cause I didnt feel like waiting in line.
Well, Cane's, being the expanding business they are, and, if I remember correctly, with the goal of putting a location in every college town in Louisiana and Mississippi within the next fifteen years, ought to be careful about hacking off customers. While I do think the Tech fans are over-reacting and are reading way too much into what the sign meant, I can understand the principle of the matter. The sign said "LA TECH-WHAT A JOKE". It didn't say "Bulldogs-what a joke" or "La. Tech football-what a joke." The Tech fans would have had no problem with that; heck, they are starting to think that themselves after their dismal performance Saturday night. The sign, while it was meant to lampoon Tech's football team, could be interpreted to mean that the entire institution that is Louisiana Tech University is a joke, which I think is a little harsh. I don't agree and I think Tech is a great school. I don't think that was the intent of the people who put the sign up. I also think that the sign was authorized only by the manager of that store, and that the decision was not authorized by the higher-ups. They understand that it is not good business sense to hack people off. That said, I do think Tech fans are over-reacting just a bit over this. It's understandable; their pride is just a tad bit wounded because of how horribly the game went for them Saturday. Honestly, I could some of us reacting the same way to a perceived slight from another SEC opponent, although Tiger fans generally have much thicker skin (we have to, with all the abuse and stereotyping we take at the hands of others). And I don't think that this is really going to hurt Cane's business, nor will it deter them from opening locations in North Louisiana when the time comes for regional expansion. Tech fans will rant and rave for a few days, then it will pass.
New Customer I do not know where Raising Canes is and I have never heard of it either but they just got a new customer. I am going to Raising Canes the next time I am in Baton Rouge. Screw Tech
I don't think here is even a raising canes in ruston, so, uh, what are they boycotting? a restraunt that isnt there yet? Earth to McFly, anybody home?
