"The guy's racist but doesn't think he is. There's a lot of people like that"

He knows he's a racist. He merely wantps others to believe that he is not.

Whites really ought to stop running and hiding or slavishly apologizing for being White every time someone uses the R word.

My point is that you can say believing in religion is irrational or someone is being irrational if they believe in religion but totally dismissing someone as irrational if they have faith. It's definitely a fine line.

Well, it seems that he's oblivious to that. I've already been ignoring his posts that are just quotes from the Wisdom of Tgsam. But I've been trying to encourage him when he deigns to discuss a matter.

He's dropped the All-Caps, he's actually responding to direct questions now and then, and he almost cracked a smile today. He's progressing, in an annoyingly preachy sort of way. Some day he'll break character and we'll see what's underneath.

I'm sticking with the carrot and the stick for a while.

Isn't it strange how we talk about him like he's not here? I don't recall any anonymous internet character around here that ever seemed so remote.

By that logic, it would be ok for Denny's to deny service to black people, so long as they can eat at Shoney's.

The issues I broach are much more interesting than I am. I'm just an old Geezer who has learned much while living a fairly interesting life.

While I agree with you on the church vs state aspect, I suspect this character would have denied the couple in question a "legal civil union" as well.
