    You're saying all marriages should have two components? A religious "marriage" and a civil union? You do agree there has to be some level of legal involvement in a marriage regardless of a religious component don't you?

    I've got to assume the law says a JP has to abide by the law of the land. I mean that's basically his job to follow the law.

    The guy's racist but doesn't think he is. There's a lot of people like that. The bathroom comment was the giveaway. FWIW, when I have suppers I make my friends piss outside because they track up the floors and my wife jumps my ass.

    You see, tinsley. Americans are NOT Europeans. I also have Anglo-Nordic ancestry but it does not make me a European. Furthermore, evolution has been going on a lot longer than 82,000 years and we evolved from Africans who are still the same species that we are.

    Millennia of living above 50 degrees of latitude has made nordic people whiter, but America is almost entirely below 50 degrees and much of it is semi-tropic and desert. Nordic-Americans will evolve a darker pigmentation inevitably at this latitude, whether they "mix" with equatorial people or not.

    I have been unable to find a source stating exactly what duties that a Louisiana JP is required to perform. It is a part-time job and I'm not entire sure if a JP is required to serve on demand. I'll bet we will be hrearing more about this.

    The guy is a jackA$$. What can the state do to him? Go ACLU on this one.

    How does this get handled? Assuming the JoP is acting with state approval, doesn't he have to follow state guidelines, including not being allowed discriminate based on race and sex. He is technically doing both.

    i am saying if you need a legal arrangement with your wife or anyone else, then go into one. perhaps the government could make this agreement simple with some sort of "civil union". or not, i dont care.

    the idea of "marriage" just seems antiquated and pointless. i dont care who you are dating or how serious you are. i dont care what forms you filled out. you might me really committed or not, who cares? its your business, not mine or the government's. the government shouldnt care at all.

    if you want a legal agreement or "union", it shouldnt matter if you like them at all, or who they are. it is simply a business/legal agreement. you can call it is business partnership for all i care.

    i just dont see why anyone cares at all about marriage. if you want to live with some person of another race or sex, and act likea couple, go for it, enjoy yourself. i dont see why it matters what forms are filled out at some stupid government office.

    i am sure your lawyer can figure it out. marriage is a non-issue to rational folks.

    I am obviously an ethnic European as are my living descendants so far. All the blather in the world isn't going to change that.

    Obviously there are legal issues that go along with intertwining your life with someone but generally I agree with you

    It's a little much to just dismiss anyone with faith as irrational.
