There's no room for play by play analysis on the score card. It only reads Wins & Losses. That's what's important & that's what Miles has delivered.
Miles has delivered a Mediocre version of football with good results, what happens when the results start to drop b/c of our play. This is the future of LSU football im talking about not '05. Yes we had a good year, yes we won 10 games, yes we played like crap in most of our games. What happens when you put youth on the field with the same style of play as this year ?
in this i agree with you. Penalties have been a sore on this team all year. I think it may just be that they had a difficult time adjusting, in this aspect, to a new coaching style. And i'm not to worried about the bashers and nay sayers. Like my grand dad used to say,
l hope they do to... don't get me wrong. l just don't know why our OLine regressed from last year. Recievers started playing sloppier. We were one of the most penalized teams in the nation, etc... Just seems like these guys weren't coached well... they may have been and just rebelled against the staff, who knows. l just want to see a better product on the field next year.
I think the thing that has me frustrated was that there wasn't a noticable improvement in the offense all season. Bo Pelini did a great job - it took him two games but he met the team in the middle. This team wants to play attacking blitzing type defense and he prefers the zone style and he met them somwhere in the middle. The defense showed noticable improvement throughout the season. On the other hand, the offense struggled throughout. The only games that the offense played well is where LSU had the supreme talent advantage. I think the venom for Miles from others is bad is because this is where his specialty is supposed to be. Most felt the most improvement would be on the offensive side of the ball, instead it looked like LSU was stuck in neutral from last year. The offense had no identity and was predictable at times. Instead of taking a step forward most times they took two steps back. I think the playcalling in the SECCG was better than a lot of games this season, they just were too deflated early to make a real shot at a comeback. The blocked punt was the turning point of the game. Without that LSU is still very much in the game. If LSU pins them deep they could have flipped the field position and allowed the D to settle down.
********.com. They have about three posters there and they're all admins anyway and I think they probably live in the same house.
