I think some people tend to forget that these football players are people, too. Unfortunately, our society puts them on a pedestal and as a result, they are expected to act as if nothing fazes them and they should just concentrate on football. I can't imagine what it would feel like to be 20 years old, playing football in front of 90,000 fans, and hearing boos. I can't imagine what it would be like to log onto the internet and read what some fans have to say about me or my teammates - or my coach, for that matter. And yes, I have no doubt that football players read these boards. How can you expect someone who hasn't even graduated from college to focus on something that they're being criticized for? Kyle Williams had every right to say what he said. I applaud him for having the balls to do so. No doubt he knew there would be some who would criticize him for his comments. These aren't professional athletes who make a million dollars a game. These are young kids who, for some of them, are living out their dream before they hit the real world. It makes me sick to hear the argument, "well I pay money to watch them play football, not bitch about the fans." Well they play football to play football, not hear bitching from the fans.
I donb't think the insults and stuff really bother them all that much as those people are easy to write off. i think what bothers them are the fans that jump ship so willingly and so quickly, the people they are expecting to be behind them 100%.
I can honestly say have quite a bit of football knowledge, but even people who dont can see that many of the on-the-field problems are the results of coaching and playcalling... So if someone says "LSU sucks!" then f*ck them, Bbut if someone says "Pelini's defensive scheme sucks because he uses too much soft coverage and zone blitzes with the wrong personelle," then they have every right...
what? do i have to put a smiley face there for you to get its a joke. i guess i cant expect any one poster to remember that i strongly disagreed with posters saying LSU was undisciplined after the UT loss
