Too bad those inner city/trailer park parents don't give enough of a shit to put their unwanted children up for adoption. Instead they grow up in the streets, learning only how to survive. I fail to believe that every undesired baby is fortunate enough to end up in a situation as well as your nephews. Further, as sad as it sounds, race is also known to play a factor in the chance of adoption.

poverty isnt an excuse.. there are just as many kids in the middle class who are treated like sh*t as there are in the trailer parks...

With apologies to Larry the Cable Guy, I don't care who you are...that's ignorant.

You seem to be disregarding the impact of one's environment. Are you denying the correlation between low-income areas and crime rate?

Um...I believe we were talking about HIV and it's correlation to trailer parks. Like I said, quit digging.

Well, we're never going to know that for sure if he isn't at least given a
chance to live, now will we?

True enough. But it all comes down to whether or not you believe it's worth the risk. I am a very firm believer in the quality of upbringing as integral to a persons development. Between overpopulation and the self-perpetuating problems in 'slummy' areas, I don't see why anymore unwanted need to be exposed to that kind of infinite creulty.

So, kill babies to save them from the cruelties of life? How magnanimous of you.

Actually, I feel the same way. I am pro-choice, but anti-adoption. I guess I've just seen too many afterschool specials where kids reach 18-20 and go seeking out the biological parents.

And oddly enough, it ties back into why fighting terrorists in Iraq is better than fighting terrorists here domestically. Because we can't see it, just like my fear of adoption.

Which puts this thread back on track!

And Annan is still a goober.
