He was saying that it would give you some breathing room with USF which is still very competitive in the computer polls if they were to lose to Connecticut. This however, would also cause Auburn's ratings to go down because Auburn lost to USF. Since Auburn was also one of LSU's wins, it would also undermine the strength of LSU's schedule and might end up hurting them in the computers anyway.
He's trying to say that if USF dropped, Auburn may drop (since they lost to USF), which could lower our SOS.
Tenn already lost to Florida. Unless USCe beats UF and wins the rest of their games, Florida will win the East.
Valid point. My moneys still on UF though. Exactly. Thanks for pointing that out, completely missed that. That's why I pulling for Georgia.
In order of importance: #1 Ohio State @ #25 Penn State - obvious we need OSU to lose, other than the Michigan game, this might be the only team capable of beating them #12 Southern California @ #5 Oregon - Oregon poses the most significant threat to overtake LSU based on ease of schedule (USC and ASU are both at home then its 3 easy games) and they are closest to LSU in the human polls and will rise in the computer polls. A poor winning performance by LSU vs an Ole Miss, for instance, could cost us. #21 California @ #4 Arizona State - need to get rid of a pesky unbeaten before the human voters fall in love with them and jump them over LSU. I seriously doubt ASU can beat Cal, USC and Oregon, however. Mississippi State @ #14 Kentucky - no way can we afford Kentucky to go downhill on us the rest of the way....We need them to win out...their schedule is condusive to doing just that with a Georgia road game being their toughest opponent #16 South Carolina @ Tennessee - rooting for South Carolina to win out and face LSU in the SEC CG (which means they would beat Florida later) #11 Florida vs. #18 Georgia - been strugging with the entire Florida thing. Do I want to face them in the SEC CG? Probably not. But to go against them vs a team that is not on our schedule is too much to ask. My logic is for Florida to win here and then lose to South Carolina. Mississippi @ #22 Auburn - as much as we hate Auburn, we need them to win out, since LSU beating Bama takes them out of the 25, and possibly for good. We need Auburn to be ranked as high as possible at seasons end. #9 Kansas @ Texas A&M - tired of hearing about teams with no losses and their right to go to the NC game. This team is a fraud, even moreso than BC. Minnesota @ #20 Michigan - irrelevant other than what Mac said, keep Michigan on a roll heading into their game vs tOSU, so that the game still really matters (i.e., Big 10 Title on the line) #15 Virginia @ North Carolina State - agree with Mac, I think a Vtech rematch with BC will produce different results so I would rather BC face Vtech, just in case BC has made it thru the regular season unscathed, which I highly doubt will happen. New Mexico State @ #17 Hawaii - nothing here, although Mac is right about them possibly stealing the at-large from LSU in the event we falter and need help. But because I strongly proclaim LSU is winning their next 6 games, I declare this one to be irrelevant. #7 West Virginia @ Rutgers - no real effect, not even computer polls #10 South Florida @ #23 Connecticut - no real effect, not even computer polls Iowa State @ #13 Missouri - nothing here Nebraska @ #19 Texas - irrelevant
NO, from this point forward I like our chances against any team in the country in any game, except against UF in Atlanta. We want no more of the gayturds.
I think this thread inspired Rabalais column today. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/10834786.html
While to some it may seem as if you were kidding, I can promise you this is exactly where he got it from.
