He didn't pick LSU/OSU/UL to beat USC, just to meet them in the Rose Bowl. Because of Louisville's schedule, I'd say that's not far fetched.

Louisville is this year's West Virginia. If you recall, last year everyone was on WV's jock because they had a solid returning squad, a favorable schedule and a weak conference.

Like they say, you still have to line up and play, and WV didn't always show up in that respect. Louisville will fall at some point.

ive always liked herbtreit and thought he was one of the respected ones on that set but lately (the last 3 years or so) he does get caught up in the bs of it all. He often times makes ridiculous comments or terrible observations to back up his points or picks. I suppose their scripts keep getting longer or he loses perspective being around the nutcase Lee.

i enjoy it for what it is, nothing more. A sideshow to entertain me before the games itself.

    the rest is lagniappe.

oh and chris fowler has turned into nothing but a puppet who has no opinion anymore. more proof of the dumbing down that happens when you are around espn too long. im proof.

i think corso roomed with burt reynolds in their days at FSU and lettered every year. ya think the size of players has changed?

I was saying it was silly because the bcs would be considered a joke if louisville makes it to pasedena... I mean honestly, they could beat everyone by blowout margins, but

    A) they're in the big east
    B) they're in a power conference for their first season ever
    c) who the HELL wants to see louisville in the college football championship game?
    D) THEY'RE IN THE BIG EAST!!!!!

they'd travel 3,000 people for the game...it's sad enough they're almost guaranteed to go to a bcs game....remember pitt getting their ass kicked in the fiesta bowl vs utah??? yeah me either...well barely..

Not sure where you guys have been lately, but Louisville has been layering some decent talent and laying the foundation for a reputable football program. IMO, they are not like the Maryland program that popped its head over the fence a few years ago only to have it shot off. Give the U of L some credit because it's due. They have a fovorable schedule, but we've seen weaker schedules from BCS teams recently...
