King Trump

I seem to recall a bunch of people on here calling Obama a King when he signed executive orders. He totaled 277 in 8 years, Trump has 10 already in just 5 days. That's 2 per day and this rate, at the end of 1460 days that's a whopping 2920 executive orders in 4 years. But, it's ok when he does this right?

 

Well yeah, he's undoing all those unconstitutional ones, righting the ship.

 

I actually think all this, "millions voted illegally" and my dic pic's bigger than yours is a distraction for all the controversial business he's getting done.

 

He's got a lot of shit to undo.

I can't believe you of all people who raved about how great that deepwater horizon movie is, a citizen of this state who saw hundreds of million gallons of oil spill into the gulf is for these pipelines.

 

I' m not, really. The prev prez dragged this on long enough that it won't be as significant as it would've once been.

LaSalle whether you like it or not we are a civilization that uses massive amounts of energy to live this modern lifestyle with air conditioning, TV, internet (server farms use huge amounts of electricity) Only fossil fuels can provide the energy we need to live. Oil and natural gas are the cleanest most energy dense fuels available.
It is a fact that pipelines are the safest way to transport these products. Don't you remember the train wrecks in Canada and so many other places. To move equilivilent volumes by truck or train more people are exposed to danger and costs and environmental impact is worse.
If you want to live the lifestyle you do at this time then we need oil and gas. If you want the cleanest safest way to move the oil and gas you will support pipelines. It's really that simple.

 

To follow up @LaSalleAve if you want alternative energy (wind, solar etc) there needs to be a order of magnitude improvement in the generating capability and capacity of the means. You also need several orders of magnitude increase in battery capacity.
To get the power from where it is generated best to where it's used will require a new high voltage transmission grid.
Do you think those protesting the pipelines will be any more accepting of these things? I believe they're a mixture of NIMBYs, anarchists/socialists, thoughtless fellow travelers and the like. Don't be fooled, while I don't much care where we get our power from I do care that we have the life we live. These guys just want to destroy our way of life.
