@TerryP thats a good thought, we all know the game is changing and so does Nick. He still can't let go of total control so I imagine it will be a coach that's doesn't get his feelings hurt when Nick interjects his opinions or over rides a play call. Those big personalities like Kelly, Kiffin, etc just don't mesh with Saban style. It's not to say they wouldn't be successful together it's just the everyday struggle that makes the job tedious. If you can make the environment a pleasant one, while still being being successful, why wouldn't you. I think Saban is looking for that guy. I think that's the same problem O had with Craig, he just didn't fit the direction we want to go. But what do you expect from a Barner!
Chip can get a high profile job whenever he wants. Unlike Kiffin or Sark he is not damaged goods. He doesn't need to subject himself to a year or 2 of Saban's humiliation to rehabilitate himself
Sardrunkian is seriously damaged goods but I'd say OC for the Falcons is not exactly a low profile job. And let's remember, he was the Bama OC for all of 2 months?
That's true, anybody who takes that job is going to have to be ok without total control. Established guys like Chip will not work under those conditions, not to mention the vast offensive philosophical differences.
