Don't question John's mad skills. I'm sure he has many years of pwning Madden to back up his claims.

EDIT to add: JaMarcus scored pretty well on the Wonderlic -- he got a 24 which is above average for QBs. Matt got a 26.

Other interesting scores: Chris Leak got a 12 (not good). Matt Leinart: 35 (exceptional). Alex Smith: 40 (wow!). Byron Leftwich: 25 (good).

EDIT2: 24 is actually average for QBs according to Wikipedia.

EDIT3: This probably puts JM about one standard deviation higher in IQ than the general American population.

I have no problem admitting that Tirk knows more about sports than me. I never even watched sports until I attended LSU. My strength is logical analysis, not detailed breakdowns.

And I too wish Tirk would offer detailed opinions more often.

And you're not only very good at what your strength is, also VERY respected here for it.

Cides, saying Tirk knows more is surely no slam on your part cause Tirk is one of the most knowledgeable, overall- TB, Terry come to mind too; however, I envy your grasp of the recruiting- not only prospects but our needs.

I am guilty of watching games passively and tend to follow the ball. :hihi:

As far as "X's and "O's" my understanding is VERY basic. I only played my Fr. and Soph year in HS before realizing I enjoyed hunting and fishing with my dad on the weekends more. (We had a camp in Hackberry and duck hunted in Johnson's Bayou and fished White Lake a lot in the Spring). I also played Tennis, baseball, and basketball too and kinda got burned out with sports till college where I started steer wrestling after running around with some guys on the Rodeo Team.

Anyway, since I played MLB, my offensive knowledge is lacking, but even still, when posters discuss different packages, I sometimes have a hard time visualizing them. I'm REAL bad about not knowing players' numbers and even though I know which position they play, prolly couldn't tell you if it was left or right side for many of them. :(

are QB's an area of concern ? .... mebbe.
deep trouble ? ...... way to early to judge. Fall ball snaps will expedite their develop ment. I'm guessing it will be an easy decision for CGC.

I haven't been here as long as you, so I haven't seen what you've seen from TB or Terry, but I'd put BHelm right up there as one of the strong points TF offers when it comes to sports knowledge. He's another one that I wish would share more. Just off the top of my head, I'd also give shout-outs to Clair, Islstl and even uscVball when it comes to doing great jobs of furthering along good sports conversation (trust me, there are a lot of other TF people out there that deserve shout-outs for this, I'm just too lazy to sit here and rack my brain to think of all of them).

But on the other hand, I do see that there are a fair number of regulars here who could care less about knowing what the difference is between a 4-3 and 3-4, for example.

    clearly youve lost your mind.

then i'd be exposed for the know-nothing i am.

surely you jest. cparso may be the only person who doesnt post bullshiit so i make sure to read every post of his if i am paying attention. he is my deity.

unlike myself who posts random crap especially on recruiting which i know nothing. not since a private board i was privy to disbanded, have I been so uninformed on recruiting. now i rely on tf solely outside of friends who likely do the same.

i would probably give the exact same ratings. except mine would be for lack of tact and always honest. or more like not interested in presentation.

not without pasting it from somewhere else. (this validates my previous comment regarding tact)

i dont even know what this means nor its relevance. b.s.

    seriously? ok stick to politics.

    i woulda never guessed honestly.

sometimes im overly observant about irrelevant crap i assume is too much for the sane person. i try not to bore you.

    hmm

credibility shot. glad i didnt swallow that previous comment.

i only played baseball past little league. probably explains why i talk about baseball all the time. talking about a 3 technique tackle like dorsey while being a 1 gap player isnt very exciting to me for some reason.

im a fan of the run-n-shoot though. ill discuss that any time.

i was on the debate team and was kicked off for saying f you, tater salad.
you played major league baseball? sweet

and for the love of god everyone, offer your personal opinions, not what espn tells you.
