I think Lee can get it done, IF he is not hampered by 1st game drops and poor routes. Our guys need to be precise (because I think they win against duck DB) and hold on to the ball because Lee can Zing it. I hope the practice this week helped them to adjust to the velocity. If we can do that we score plenty. My biggest concern is our defense with this style offense. I trust in Chavis but the poor tackling against AU last year scares me. Mis-direction usually gives us fits.
You have to have quick penetration in the backfield to disrupt the play before the qb has time to make his read. This is what au was able to do. This is what we must do. I can't wait to see the freak and tm7 in action.
watching highlights of tyrann getting pressure on qb's, unblocked, gives me goosebumps. if they don't put a hat on this kid, the ducks better hope they are in good standing with the big man upstairs.
Losing your best offensive lineman doesn't help much either. Of all the people LSU lost lately, I think losing that lineman will be the most devastating.
We lost our best OL last year first play of the opening game. Did ok. Oh, that lineman last year will be starting Sat. night.
A lot of people overlook this tidbit of info. We are generally caught out of position a lot against these fast, misdirection offenses. Oregon will score. We'll just have to find a way to score more.
The key to defending the Ducks is staying with ones assignment. Over aggressive defensive play does not work on the Ducks, as the Ducks massively use misdirection to get the aggressive defender out of position. Cal kept us to 15 by this strategy. They did not so much dominate the line, as much as made sure they were always where they were supposed to be. Cudos to the Cal defensive coordinators preparation. The other way to beat us is by penetration into the backfield. (Nick Farely) That's how Auburn shut down our running game.

Ya, if you look at those two videos, in the pass play there was no significant pass rush pressure, BUT, the receivers were all covered. In the run play, there was no penetration by the defense, but all the defenders were in place to plug the gaps. This is typical of most of the game. The Ducks did stomp the Cal defense on the last drive of the game, due to finally tiring them out. Overall it was a job of a VERY disciplined defense.
