I think it is absurd to imagine that Oregon can run at such a pace to tire out a very fit LSU team and not get the least bit tired themselves. It ain't going to happen. We do not. We will control the TOP but it doesn't have to be lopsided for LSU to win.
That all sounds fine and dandy, but I am truly concerned about our ability to score. I have seen glimpses of Lee where he looked really good, and I am usually one of the biggest positigers here, but I am truly concerned with LSU's ability to put the ball in the endzone. I want to "get up" for this game, but I will admit right now, that if LSU loses this game and we can clearly see that we lost this game due to us missing JJ and/or RS, I will just be that much more upset about this entire ordeal.
The key to winning this game is to do just as we did aginst wvu. Kick their ass! Each player on our team has to beat down the man in front of them. We had noel devine broken down. Jeno smith was lining up under the guard. We must smack them down. Our player must out play their players. We must have our o line dominate their d line. We must be able to get through their blockers and pressure their qb. We must play as a team. Together we will win.
Winning any game this year would have always been DESPITE JJ. RS...meh. Overall bust, IMO. Above-average, but nothing special. (Let the hate rain, I don't care.)
Id say, so far RS hasnt lived up to the hype, I am not ready to call him a bust yet, but I smell what your cooking. JJ, you are right, we were not a 100% sure thing with him and Id probably be just as worried if he were under center. I like Rwilliams post, we just have to take it one snap at a time and dominate our defender one play at a time. I will admit that my concern for us to score is legit given our history, just like my lack of concern for Oregon's speed and offensive power is legit due to our Defense's history.
Despite the name on the jersey under center, we should have a GREAT O-Line this year, and we've all seen what Ware can do. I think that no matter who is under center, all he would really have to do is hold on to the ball and connect on some routine throws to let the running game take over, eat clock, and spit out points.
I agree, but as someone posted, Id like to see our offense go after the ducks, if we come out with a conservative game plan, that could really come back to haunt us. The ducks are not a team you want to have the ball last in a close game. Id like to see JL go after them with his arm, bring back the gunslinger that broken the freshman passing yards record, minus the int's of course
