Watching the highlights. Obviously in retrospect, a few key moments standout as defining moments. #1 Goal line stands. I know UT dropped a clear TD, but you got to make the play. Pressure was coming. The second stand was MASSIVE. (Another note, D was fresh in the 1st half. Gives me hope but UT adjusted better than Arana, who didn't adjust at all.) #2 TD to enter the half. In the past we would have ran the clock out. Looking back, would have been costly. #3 Sack late in the 4th forcing the FG from UT. We wanted a stop, but it was just enough. #4 LSU's last TD. Was the true dagger. Our D was fucking done. DONE. #5 CEH's drop. Game would have been under-control far earlier.
Watching with a friend and as the first half was winding down and Texas had the ball, I tell him if we stop Texas, watch us march all the way down the field and score 7, we will not settle for 3 like in year's past (or worse yet run out the clock).
Well after we completed the pass on the first play of the second half we should have lined up and smashed them in the mouth next 2 plays for a first. IMHO BTW blaming E and O for that
1st drive of the 2nd half. Burrows pass to CEH out of the backfield for an easy 2 yard 1st down. CEH drops it. Texas proceeds to slide their D*** up our ass the rest of the game. That next drive by UT was a burner. Like over 7 minute drive. Ate our shit.
Strength and conditioning. I've been bitching about overall strength, thought our conditioning was good. After watching our guys drop like flies in the second half while UT endured, I'm questioning that side of it as well.
