Saban bashing says all we need to know; you don't live in reality. Steele has been run off/relocated at each DC position he's been at. He failed miserably as a HC. Chavis was considered top rung by many; Steele not. And it's not like he's an unproven commodity, he's been proven to struggle as DC. Following the many disappointments from Miles, this hurts (if the hire were made with a clean slate it wouldn't hurt nearly as bad). Hope it works out, but there is no curb appeal with this hire. Somehow getting O on board would get things closer to what left us for A&M (face value impact, at least).
Apparently that bolded part equally fits Orgeron or Steele. So, what's the difference? Not blown away by this selection, but I'm willing to give anyone enough rope to either lash down the ship or hang themselves. I'll wait to see the product on the field before passing a judgement.
Fired like Orgeron was at Ole Piss? Or like he was run off at USC when he didn't get the HC job? Let's see what the product on the field is. If it's a colossal screw up, he won't be the only one fire or run off.
