Way to pull out one example. Sourdoughman had several.... And by the way, I would have LOVED to have Howard Dean as the Dem's nominine....Karl Rove once commented that "Dean was the one we wanted."
I'm not trying to take a side on this issue because I actually see Bush as the leeer of two evils, I am just trying to show that President Bush also lacks credibility.
They were also spreading all kinds of money over Clinton and Gore. But, let's see what ACTUALLY HAPPENED -- Enron and its crooks were able to do all their "dirty deeds" for EIGHT YEARS under Clinton/Gore. Yet, they were exposed fairly quickly by the Bush Justice Department and SEC. So, which party would you say was more likely to have been BOUGHT and PAID FOR???
In politics on the National Level, big companies and big individual donors do just like the heyday of the hayride out here in Louisiana... You donate $5,000 or 10-thou on your "best horse"...and then you spread the rest around on the other guys... Like Leander Perez and how badly he would go out and root against Uncle Earl, even though he slipped him a few thousand in support in each and every election... You have to grease all the wheels in DC, not just the squeaky ones, and Lay and Enron did it very well.... Hell, Bill Clinton himself said that, "Kenneth Lay is a great American. He's a great corporate citizen of this country." They knew each other quite well. Now, is Lay the reason that Clinton got a hummer in the White House? Hell no! But, it is enough of a statement to say that the Democrats can't say jack sh!t when it comes to Republicans being in cahoots with big business... Hell, what was the Clinton White House's biggest mantra towards the end? It's the economy, stupid... While they were being "smart" with the economy, they were also personally lobbying Congress to take Afghanistan off the trade ban list, allowing the wool to be pulled over their eyes in North Korea, allowing Saddam Hussein to continue to reign terror over his people, kill dissenters, and threaten his people as well as destabilize one of the most power keg-esque areas of the world, when he was in direct defiance of the United States and International Law... We see what paying attention to the economy while being loosey goosey with foreign policy does for the economy right? A terrorist attack really kind of erases all those great numbers in the stock market... But, I'm just rattling on...National politics doesn't matter...Louisianians, just as citizens of any other state in the Union, have-on Presidential Election Day this November-a 50/50 shot at having their vote for POTUS not even count...The Electoral College dictates it...
