She can believe whatever she wants to believe. She cannot however refuse to follow the law because of her beliefs. Religious freedom does not give you the right to ignore the law just because of the way you interpret a book. What if she was a Muslim refusing to offer services to a Christian because it's against their beliefs? There are always going to be fringed idiots who make threats. Are you going to stick up for the thousands of gays who have been threatened with death and physical harm as a result of being who they are? The people who are threatening her a fucking idiots, and she is a fucking idiot. Because of her beliefs? No, because she refuses to follow a court order that will harm the taxpayers of her county when the county is fined.
Well, MASTERMIND asked for opinions on the clerk in this case so I answered. I also weighed in on the response of gay people and the fact that they demand what they do not give. I am tired of the homo hypocrisy. (Sorry LaSalle, just going for the cheap alliteration). She doesn't want to do her job. Great, fine her ass, fire her, I don't care. Then the gay folks come along and call her inbred and send her death threats. Great, I don't give a shit about them either based on their attitude. They can't get a marriage license so they stand in the back of the courtroom crying, holding hands, and swaying. OMG. Seriously? I've been told "no you can't" more than a few times in my life. That's the time to get moving and find another way. Like I said, there are 120 counties in Kentucky. How far away could the nearest one be? Is it "fair"? In the past I have driven to Port Allen or Ascension Parish on a Sunday because then you couldn't buy hard liquor in Baton Rouge.
