I didn't say that you were talking about me. You and tirk are widely dismissing whatever Stewart says (beyond the comment I initially posted) because you claim that he is partisan, and therefore 'sucks.' Pay attention.

Right. You must not watch many of his interviews. Unlike most TV news personalities, Jon Stewart gives a sh!t.

Absolutely ludicrous. The man makes a living by exercising his right to free speech, which often entails poking fun at some of the ways others exercise theirs.

Oh I realize it, alright. I also realize that there has been another series of sanctions and subsequent resolutions that only imposed economic sanctions on Hussein.

I like the Daily Show. It is hilarious. Although it is not 'real' news and it is a comedic outlet, JS often speaks the truth, and says what so many other pundits are afraid to. My liking of it has absolutely nothing to do with being 'cool' or 'quirky.'

well, he did say crossfire is "hurting america". i guess crossfire is one voice too many added to the free market of ideas. i didnt realize america was so fragile that a couple arguing dorks could hurt it. i am glad stewart is holier than everyone and he lets us know which voices are not noble enough for him.

thats what ad hominem is, arguing about you instead of what you are saying. i hoped you understood what ad hominem is.

i know you will say i was making ad hominem arguments against john stewart, but that is really poinlessly stretching it, bub. you were referencing his opinions as part of your argument. i specifically addressed his opinion you referenced, and went on to add why i think he has little credibility. thats not ad hominem. you shouldnt need to have this explained.

you are still angry at me for making you loook silly. understandable. you may be too petty to ever get over it and actually discuss something like an adult. but i hope you prove me wrong. good luck. try to focus on points instead of petty distractions.

Stewart is a moron. He's not funny, he's pathetic. A REAL comedian can be funny in ANY group. This dope has to have a select group to come off as funny. Bill Cosby was funny. Stewart is just a pundit. But then again alot of people think Howard Stern is funny too. another moron. :dis:

Stewart is funny, I laugh my ass off. He's not a standup comic or a sketch comedian. He is a humorous commentator on daily events, like Leno, Conan, or Letterman. These people skewer whoever is in the news and whoever is in charge. Stewart wasn't around during Clinton, as I recall, but the other three all bashed Clinton pretty good. Now they all bash Bush pretty good. If Stewart is still around in 2009, I suspect he will be making much fun of a democratic president.

He was around during Clinton. He took over for Kilborn around '98-99. And yes, he bashed the living hell out of Clinton, as well. Grant it, he wasn't around for the whole 8 years, but he certainly did his fair share of shots at the man.

This goes back to the 'short memory' of the right wing I alluded to earlier (not talking about you, Red). They don't seem to realize that the shots on this administration seem so abundant because, well, they are running the show right now.

It puzzles me how the righties get all over him for being 'partisan', then turn right around and swear by what O'Reilly says (who also claims to be non-partisan, a MUCH bigger stretch than Stewart).

Yeah. Us righties have our weekly O'Reilly meetings on Thursday nights.

That guy is a doofus, Inside Edition reject who just got really, really lucky. No self-effacing conservative watches that crap for real opinion.

If get my talkin' points from Greta.....I have to watch her mouth though cause she talks out the very corner of it......weird lady.

Right. And you have provided yourself with a standing objection to anything Stewart says on the grounds that he is 'partisan.' I know, I know. You tried to address that particular statement, even though your argument is completely full of holes. But everytime I bring up him, or something he says, it's the same song & dance with yourself and others. Sounds pretty cut and dry to me.

I'm curious, when did you make me 'look silly?' By senslessly bashing someone that I think highly of?

It's incredibly ironic that you want to sit here and preach to me about maturity while at the same time insinuating that our discussions have any bearing on my emotional state. Maybe these things bother you on a personal level, but I've plenty other to worry about. So don't flatter yourself. Looks to me like you are the one that needs to refocus, and perhaps even get over himself.
