It's hilarious how you guys act like Obama is the devil and liberals are making the country go to shit, but completely dismiss the republican's contributions to the demise.

They are all cogs in a wheel, and the wheel turns and one ends up on top, then it turns again and the other is on top and nothing changes but the wheel turns. They are all complicit. Democrats, republicans, they all suck.

And how was it balanced exactly the way it was? It wasn't.

Not sure what you're referring to but the court was very balanced politically. Sotomayor, kagan, breyer, and Ginsburg almost always voted liberally. Alito, scalia and Thomas almost always voted conservatively. Roberts and Kennedy were conservatives but would often vote with the liberal justices. The court was therefore left leaning but only slightly and very balanced. Now you remove a conservative with a liberal and you'll get 5 liberal judges always voting together.

I don't think I've ever, in my years here seen anyone try to legitimately argue to the contrary. Right now the dems are screwing it up so we are taking advantage

Uh no, you had 5 conservative 1 of which would vote the other way rarely, and 4 liberals, so it was tilted Red. That's not balance. And what's probably going to happen is Obama will nominate Sri Srivanson or however his name is spelled who is a moderate that the Senate unanimously approved for a different post. So it's not like some leftist is going to get nominated to replace the far right wing neocon Scalia.
