They all spoke about stopping Obama from replacing him at the debate last night.

No, not nearly as appalled. First of all, Reid is the minority LEADER. He was also one of the FIRST to speak out. Absolutely despicable.

But I'll take it further.....libs and Dems like to claim the moral high ground and to say they are the party of inclusion, compassion. I'm sorry but it's fucking crap. They have no more than anyone else and at times, quite a bit less. Hypocrites of the highest order.

I would have preferred that neither party discuss politics for 24 hours after the news. Didn't happen and unfortunately from a timing perspective, the debate was last night and there's no way it wasn't going to be an issue.

And you would feel the same if it was a republican president? He should still wait a year for the next guy to come in and make the appointment? Or, if he makes a selection, you would think it appropriate for a democratic congress to shekve it for a year?

No, you let the people decide. If they want a pussy ass liberal justice then the general election will reflect that.

No chance. You'd be hollering about how they were a bunch of lying cheating scum. Be just slightly more aware of how your passion and prejudices affect your judgment.

By the way, McConnell made the first statement on Scalia an hour after the news broke about how they wouldn't confirm anyone. Reid then responded to him with what he said. They're both dickbags but that's besides the point.

The Constitution says that the president is obligated to nominate a candidate and the Congress is obligated to approve or disapprove him. This procedure has nothing at all to do with the "voters", impending elections, or the wishes of political parties. The next President is almost a year away from taking office. Congress can decide to stonewall, but they will take a political hit for it in a voting year. Meanwhile the Supreme Court will decide cases for a year without a conservative majority. Best for the Republicans to just let Obama nominate and then approve the nominee or disapprove him and make Obama nominate another. The Constitution is very clear.
