he just went on TV and said that James Fields is "guilty of murder". You know, when you're in his position there are things YOU JUST CAN NOT SAY. For example, everybody in this country is presumed innocent unless convicted and he just handed Fields's legal team a serious out: he can't possibly get an unprejudiced jury if the man in the White House has already publicly convicted him. And, by the way.... about Charlottesville he just also said that there are "good people on both sides". When that first side went there because they want to promote white supremacy NO NO NO.. you can't laud them. You can't applaud them. You can't equate them to good people. He's not only an obvious racist but he's an incompetent fool. Everything he says digs his hole deeper.
He made a few decent points about George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Both were in fact slave owners. Are they next? Pains me to say this but I wonder the same thing myself.
No, those are stupid rightist points. Those situations are not the same. Washington and Jefferson are memorialized for their contributions TO this country. The words and deeds of Washington and Jefferson helped us all, ultimately, when we seriously embraced them, to live in a land of liberty and justice for all. Robert E. Lee, on the other hand, is memorialized by racists for his fight AGAINST this country.... to treat people as animals, no less.
Even hosts on Fox News are calling today's presser "disgusting." Breaking News: Chief of Staff John Kelly is "stunned" that Trump went rogue.
