How do u NOT slam this kid? Ignoring the injury aspect of it, the kid BAILED out on the LSU basketball program. It's tanamount to treason.
yeah for some teams yes, they want duncan. for teams with owners like the saints they want someone to sell tickets not win games. the saints are never winners and never want the best players yet sell out how many in a row. sickening.
Tim Duncan is a 7 foot power forward who not only is a great team player who makes his teamates better and has been the MVP of 2 NBA finals series he has a great attitude and dosesn't cause any trouble. Allen Iverson is a 6 footer with great scoring ability who has never won anything in the NBA and is always in some kind of turmoil either in his personal life or his feuds with his coaches. A GM would have to be a complete idiot to take Iverson over Duncan.
would never disagree with that but many owners don't spend to win, they spend to get by. with that being said...enter tom benson, new owner of the charlotte, errr hornets.... who are now on the clock... with the first pick in the 2004 draft, the new orleans hornets choose....jaime lloreda, 6'9 240 power forward. that would really sell tickets wouldnt it? actually the saints should get him not the hornets.
One thing you have to remember is that in football and basketball the owners have to spend the entire salary cap allotment, so to say they won't spend the money on players is simply not true. If they come in more than a couple of percent lower than the cap they get fined and have to give the money to the players assoc. or something of that nature. It isn't the money that keeps teams from winning in these sports, it's their ability to hire the correct guys to the job well.
