If those are their icons no wonder this is a lost generation when it comes to music. I love music but I just cant relate to todays music.Even country music doesn't catch my interest like the oldies.
Kind of impossible to tell his story without having a bit of that, but they didn't overdo it. BTW, remember the scene where he's on the phone in a truck stop and checking out a trucker headed for the men's room? That was current Queen frontman Adam Lambert. We saw it the other day, and I thought it was fantastic! Rami Malek is getting massive praise for his portrayal of Freddie, but I honestly thought his was the least accurate on-stage portrayal of the four. The prosthetic to give him the overbite almost made hims look like a charicature. The guy who plays Brian May was absolutely perfect. And the re-creation of the Live Aid performance could not have been more spot-on.
I think music videos killed music. The song has become a contributing component, not the purpose. Summarized by a great meme (which I can’t find) of the Travelling Wiburys. The text is something like “Ugly people used to make beautiful music, now beautiful people make ugly music.”
