Could they go after an NFL coach who's currently in charge of a different Florida-based team? Jon Gruden. He only has 5 years of college coaching experience: 2 as a grad asst at Tennessee and then 1 year position-coach posts at SEMO, Pacific and Pitt. He's got charisma and NFL clout. He's got a Super Bowl ring. He might want out of Tampa after a few frustrating years.

I don't think miles is leaving(IHN). Here are some names over half probably not interested but you never know. Norm Chow, Ron Rivera, Jason Garrett, Ron Zook, Mangino, Al Groh, Bellotti(oregon), Barry Alvarez. Kind of a crazy list. And guys please don't laugh, I am not saying this guy should ever be a head coach anywhere but watch the career of Mitch Mustain's adopted daddy Malzahn, he actually appears to be a very good offensive coach. Way to go Nutt, find a diamond in the rough, then discard that diamond cause he's not supposed to be there.
Maybe it is his youngest daughter but he has other ties to LSU but I cant think of them off the top of my head. All I know is he will be on the list if fired by the Jags.
Carr is 8-2, co-leader in conference, and #13 in BCS. What am I missing? Are we thinking App St was such a shocker that he's toast? Or are we exercising our brains because there's so little to talk about with reference to LA Tech?
Scuttlebutt has it that LC is retiring after this season. IMHO that will be the only way he leaves. He didn't get fired 2 yrs ago after that awful season we had. If he winds up with 10 wins he may get an extension and stick around a few more yrs. He's not really that bad a coach, just a lot on the conservative side. Ya know he was a Bo disciple, and Bo always felt that 2 of the 3 things that could happen when you pass were bad. The problem is that ramming the ball down the other teams throat the whole game ended with limits on scholarships. If former coach Gary Moeller could handle his booze better, LC might still be an assistant, and the O would be wide open. BHD
You bring up a great point. I don't follow the Michigan program that close so perhaps you could answer this for me. Is it a requirement for Michigan's coach to be a little on the conservative side? Would the high ups be comfortable with a non conservative coaching style? And would Les Miles' recent "gambles" distance him from consideration?
I see in another forum that they say Miss State should call off the game with your great team , just to save face . here is the linkhttp://tailgatenews.proboards78.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=few&thread=1192417359&page=1
