I disagree that Mauck has enough of an age difference to keep him from relating to his teammates. When I was a graduate student at LSU I was an officer in a predominantly undergraduate service organization. It wasn't a problem for me. As far as next year's QB situation, I'd like to line them both up in the backfield on some plays so the defense doesn't know who's getting the snap.
I have to agree Bestbank. 24 to 21 is not a gap by any means. I would have to throw that argument out. But TE is really close to the situation so he probably knows. If Mauck wants a shot at the NFL, I think another year is definitely the way he should go. Yes he has had a fine season, but there are probably 10 QB's that go ahead of him. He has had very little national fanfare at this point, and has been erratic in the big games. He needs to come back and lead us to all the glory, be a big time player in the big games and then be a much higher draft pick this time next year. Just stating my opinion. Hopefully I dont get flamed for it.
I honestly don't think that Mauck would get drafted if he left school this year, and probably not even if he stayed for next year. I like him as our starting qb, but I don't see him having an NFL career. I would definitely support having him start for us next year over the two freshmen.
TE's so fullovit, it streams out of his ears ... just like the SOPPING WET FIELD FOR THE ARKANSAS GAME ... WHICH MAKES HIM EITHER AN IDIOT OR A LIAR ... NO CREDIBILITY HERE. LSU DID PUT THE COVER OVER THE FIELD IN THE AFTERNOON BEFORE THE MONSOONS ... believe zip from this clown. THE FIELD WAS BONE DRY ... BONE DRY... DENY THIS FACT LSU WON THE TRACK MEET 55-24 ... history ... now he wants us to believe this .... nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Matt Mauck's wife has a cousin ... who ... so she said to friends ... the husband of one friend is a big LSU fan ... and recruiting buddy of mine ... Matt is weighing his options because ... TWO REASONS 1. The early pro reports were not favorable for him to have a professional career, especially after his injury (personally I disagree with this and think Matt gets a pro contract if he comes back for a senior year) 2. They couple with a child now have barely enough money left from baseball to get the family through Dental School and it's a real big gamble if Matt stays another year out of dental school and they discussed chance of another injury and implications of this, yadi, yadi, yadi, with the baby and all. Hey, all TEs BS & EGOs aside ... I know this! Matt is a real competitor ... and not a quitter ... especially after that foot injury. You've got to sympathize with his dilemma, and put in his shoes ... SIMPLY ... WHAT WOULD YOU DO WHEN A PRO CAREER IS NOT A SURE THING ...
Reminds me of a joke: [Turn off politcal correctness] What's the only thing better than winning a gold medal at the Special Olympics? Not being retarded. [Turn on political correctness]
Texican is now on my ignore list. and by the way ramah, who dubbed thee "TE Monitor? Lighten up please!
calling a spade a spade ... and enjoying it. Girls wanna dish it out ... they better be ready to take it You can put me on your ignore list too
I think Matt will be back, Gimme a break! How many teams have a chance to win the National Championship? How many chances do you get in a lifetime. College only lasts 4 to 6 years depending on your major.(average) If we don't have it this year, I think we have a better chance next year, we don't have that many players leaving this year. I also saw on the tv a story with Matt might be interested in the nfl not that long ago. We already know he was interested in Pro sports from his baseball days. If he wants to have a chance in the NFL then he also has to come back next year. And TE, Its funny how this guy knows everything and has inside scoops. If his inside scoops know what he says and thinks about John Brady they probably would keep a safe distance from him.
