OK, we're in our mid-season "dead" period for the next week and a half, so let's discuss what would the outcome would be if the unthinkable happens: LSU wins out and beats an undefeated Georgia team in the SEC championship game. With two abesmal losses (MSST & Troy) do we, as SEC champions make it to the playoffs?

No, Bama and UGA would still be ranked over us.

To beat both the gumps and the dogs would give us the two best wins that any team would have. The losses to MSST & Troy are pretty bad.....stating the obvious.
How does that balance out? Hard to tell. It would likely depend as much on what Penn State, Ohio State, the Sooners Norte Dame Miami etc do. There is too much that can happen but we should be in the discussion.

No because we would be too late to the party. Those 2 losses would hurt us because of the way we were handled in those games. They are not good loses (if that makes sense) in the fact that we got our butt handed to us by lesser teams. Moo U turned out to be a very weak team and Troy should have been a rent-a-win. Like already said a one loss Bama and Georgia would get the nod or SEC would be left out depending on the other conference champs.

I would like to see it happen so we would know for sure!!!:)

I'm afraid it would not, but the deciding factor, in this case, would be the other teams. If the fourth best, was considered better than a 2 loss LSU team, regardless of wins or quality of wins, we would not go. In other words, we have to be perfect and the "competition" has to stumble.

The Troy loss is one the program will not get over for a long, long time!

I would still see Alabama being invited and LSU being left out.

LSU beating Alabama would put the Tigers at #12 to #15 in the polls, win out to finish the season, about #8 to #10. bama's loss would drop them to #5-7,.. winning out, they would rise to #3-4. unbeaten Georgia a little higher than that depending on other upsets. Beating the bulldogs in the SEC Champ game would put LSU in the top 5, right beside Georgia, but both behind Alabama,.. gee, I wonder who they'd pick to go to the show?

one more time,.. they need to change format to an 8 team playoff, with the 5 conference champs going, plus 3 at large. That would solve a lot of controversy and be fun fun fun.
