That might be true. I just remember JR looking awkward and unsure of himself when he did try to run. He also carried the ball like a loaf of bread. Looks like he's more comfortable and confident running the ball now. Ball security still concerns me a little, but he is carrying it much better. The coaches clearly have faith in him running now. We're actually calling QB draws. He's no Vick, but it does give the defense something else to think about.
Ive been saying all year, if JR plays like he did tonite, LSU is UNBEATABLE. And yes, even tOSU couldn't beat us. I didn't see the game, but reading on this thread and by looking at the stats, Couldn't play any better than JR did last night. If he plays like this at Arky, we DOMINATE!
i bet as a freshman jr thought he could run many times, but was wrong because he underestimated sec/college speed. coaches told him to stop, and by now he's learned when he can run. although there is a bit to it than this because there were several designed runs--the linebackers are preoccupied when their opponent has a running game and good wrs.
My thoughts exactly. I was glad to see JR play a nearly perfect, mistake-free game against a decent-good defense and football team. I hope he plays like this from here on out. No vital INTs against Arkansas, JR, and we're good to go and so are you to the 1st-2nd round! :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige
