In this scenario, I have to indirectly root for kellen winslow and that is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately, I think the browns are a much better place for him. Maybe Mr. Winslow could hop on a motorcycle again and put an end to my inner conflict.

In the Detroit paper today they said that Joe Dumars told Matt Millen that JR was the guy to get. I don't want to dis JR cuz I think he's a helluva player, But I think maybe its time for MM to quit wasting high picks and start building in the trenches. IMHO pretty much any qb in the nfl can lead a great team. Its hard to throw passes from the ground. Its hard to run when theres a couple guys in the backfield before you get the handoff. So as much as I like JR now, if he gets picked by the Lions I think he'll be the next Joey Harrington. That would be a waste of his time and talent.

I have to agree with you on this. No amount of talent could make up for what an idiot he is.

Let's say this does happen. Why not draft Russell? I mean they have a college coach who knows all too well how good Russell is. I don't think Petrino is anywhere close to being sold on Schaub. Who the hell is Schaub anyway? Put away the annointing oils please. Or in this case, the vaseline.

Why not have Russell throwing to Porter, Moss, Jenkins and Crumpler along with that vaunted running attack? I think Russell could thrive with that kind of talent. And then the Falcons get a O-lineman or two in the free agency and suddenly you have the makings of a great offense.

JR's named shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Joey Harrington. JR is head an shoulders above Harrington in every regard. His arm is better, he's smarter, athletically JR is WAY better. No way he's the next Joey Harrington if he goes to Detroit. JR was a great player at LSU and he will be one hell of a pro.

God I hope that doesn't happen! I would hate for the Saints to have to play JR twice a year!

Joey Harrington is a better piano player, though. Give the poor guy some credit!

I agree with you. As I said, I'm not dissing JR. He's a great player. Its just that Detroit has SUCKED since the mid 50's. It's like a black hole that sucks in great players and turns them into players that are mediocre at best. When these guys finally escape their talent returns and what ever team they go to gets a great player.

Here's an example. I just saw that Mushun Muhammed playing yesterday, the announcers said he led his team in catches this year. He was cut/waived/released by the Lions for not being good enough. They are the Lions,I pretty much ignore them, I'm not sure the exact circumstances of him leaving here. I just know they didn't get anyone for him.

I would hate to see JR in Detroit cuz the Lions would suck the life and talent out of him until he escaped from here. By then he might be so banged up he couldn't have the pro career he deserves.

Look at how they wasted Barry Sanders career. I almost wish that he had gone to Dallas. At least they gave Emmit Smith a line to run behind.
