I wouldn't say Jefferson looked great; Lee looked better in comebacks vs Auburn and Troy. I wouldn't sell Lee down the river just yet. Jefferson is able to scramble, which I'm sure immensely helps an inexperienced QB. Lee might be the better QB if both had a solid command of the playbook and both had some experience under their belts.

This was a very disappointing game. We couldn't run, Ole Miss got pressure on the QB, passes were dropped, the defense was porous, tacklers were dragged, Miles went for 4th and 1,000 on our side of the 50. Beating Arkansas is now cast in doubt. Sheesh.

I hope to see the DCs canned, I think we should give Miles the benefit of the doubt for doing the right thing with respect to Perilloux, and I think we should give Crowton the benefit of the doubt with no real QB to work with this season. That said, Les Miles may not be in the hot seat, but the temperature is rising.

I think because of this, I think a HUGE question is....

Will Miles make a change next year at QB at all.

    This just in:

NO WAY IS MILES ON THE HOTSEAT!!

We will get an upgraded coaching staff next year-positive

We will be better at qb regardless who plays-positive

    Expectations will be more realistic-positive

the only real negative i see is that this years performance may hurt recruiting....that's why we cannot have a repeat performance next year. otherwise......

Les Miles will be on the hotseat at the end of next year. Les Miles wants that les than anyone on this board.

Well, for beginners, there were no pick 6's and the only INT bounced off the hands of Toliver, not to mention all the passes JJ threw away when nothing was there. If we had a running game, it would have been even better.

    JJ > Lee

I agree JJ looked better than Lee, better arm and legs. Les could still be right that JJ was not ready, certainly not 4 weeks ago. JJ looked good doing things Crowton knows he can do. I suspect the limited offensive play calling is because JJ doesn't know the whole offense yet, and his inexperience is what limited Crowton's play calling tonight.

    P. Peterson started today, but he was not ready 2 months ago either, just like JJ.

Come on guys, LSU lost a lot since last year. I picked us 9-3 and said I wouldn't be shocked at 8-4. I hope we beat Arky.

The experiment with promoting the DC from within looks like a failure. Hope we fix it.

The team looks kinda flat. We've talked about this before, I don't see any player LEADERSHIP. Some players have to step up. I never saw it this season, not like Dorsey, Hester, Flynn, Doucet last year.

A bunch of problems, but they are all solvable. I don't see Les as the problem. But it is his job to get the problems solved. Should we have called for Saban's job in 02? I don't think so. When you have to go through a season without an SEC caliber QB, like Randall or Lee, you're offense is going to pay a price, a big price. We didn't go into the year with enough scholly QB's on the roster, and we are paying the price for that recruiting error going back 4 years.

We are not going to win the SEC every year.

The biggest knock I have against Miles, which may be indicative of a more serious problem...

...rather than going out and getting the best DC available he hired from within. That seems to show bad judgment. I know a DC search was done, so maybe the pool wasn't very promising at the time. I'll give him the benefit of a doubt. If he doesn't grab a quality DC after this season, however, my level of concern will jump a notch.

Not trying to sound like a d*uch bag, but Lee getting hurt was the best thing that could have happened to this team. It forced CLM to play JJ. And, to say the least, I and I'm sure many others were pleasantly surprised! I will be very dissappointed in CLM if he does not start JJ for the rest of the year. That would be very valuable playing time for JJ. It is clear that Lee is not the future for LSU.
I wonder why CLM stated that JJ was not ready. Maybe JJ is one of those guys who practice poorly, but excels in the actual games. Jake Delhomme is said to be the exact same way. Dunno

I remember us talking about who he could have gotten at that time. Does anyone remember who we passed up for these guys. My memory fails.

Tenuta, who gave up like 20+ points in the fourth quarter to Syracuse today.
