article by Pete Finney just over a month ago: LSU football: Jordan Jefferson to go down as triumphant, resilient leader | NOLA.com had some interesting quotes on JJ: All-American DE Sam Montgomery: All-American CB Tyrann Mathieu: also, perhaps a telling quote from Miles on why he stuck with JJ all game in the BCSCG:
He will be remembered as the QB who failed LSU on the biggest stage. If you agree or disagree doesn't matter. That's what he'll be remembered for.
Anyone remember all this awesome, spectacular progress we were promised Jefferson made over the summer from the Manning QB camp? And the same thing the year before that? You can't take pieces like this purely at face value.
Really! What did he take before the game? Kick you in the head? That was the worst performance I have ever seen. I could have taken close, that was horrible! Les and Jefferson connected at the hip? How much money?
Somebody get a shovel & bury the memory of JJ & JL forever!!! I'm done talking & hearing about them. DONE!
What I'll remember is that JJ jumped on his center when he pulled out from center too early. And I'll remember that he jumped on his receiver when the interception was his fault. A leader does not blame others for their own errors. That being said, he is still a young man and I hope he matures and prospers.
