I'm definitely on the JL bandwagon, and was worried JJ may ruin the chemistry that was developed in the first 4 weeks. However, I would have never booed him. It made me feel a little uneasy, and a little embarrassed to hear the boos rain down on him. You would have thought it was a road game. He's a part of this great team, and CLM showed great loyalty in running him out there so soon.
I agree. Came on here just to post that, making himself seem like "oh but I'm an LSU fan so don't bash me". GTFO
I wonder if the same people who booed also cheered after JJ scored. I heard alot of cheers after the TD. What makes Tiger Stadium so intimidating is when all of the fans are behind the team 100% and cheering their loudest, not booing their loudest. Save the criticism for post game or pre game. There is plenty of time to b*tch then.
no. those people were still booing. and what you didnt hear on tv were a lot of insults being hurled toward jj and miles both. at least in my section. i think a lot of those cheers you heard were people happy not only at the score, but trying to drown out the booing because they were disgusted by it.
I believe that most of the boos were directed against Les, all of them in my hearing. And that is the problem with booing. People boo at an individual, but it often hits another and usually hits the whole team. When you get older and wiser and have the urge to say something shameful, you learn to mutter to yourself rather than stand up and bellow your foolishness loudly. . . . rackin' frackin' snazzum frazzum idjit yankee coach varmint . . .
I'm not like some who think there is never an appropriate time to boo. However it was not the right thing to do yesterday when JJ entered the game. If the playcalling against Florida is anything like it was yesterday, expect to hear many more boos Saturday.
i've never or will never boo the players or coaches but i'll damn sure boo a bad call. that was very cool seeing jl's reaction to jj's touchdown and thats what mattered. jl was out of rhythm in first half but came out doing it to it in the 2nd. we've got the toughest half of the season left so let's hope the team stays healthy and continues to play like they have been .:geauxtige
That was my take on the situation. Miles knew the fans were behind Lee, wanted him to be the starter, and were afraid of going back to last year's offense. On his radio show he announces Lee will stay the starter to huge cheers from the fans. Then on the very first drive in the red zone he pulls Lee out for JJ. I didn't boo, I don't know anyone personally who did but I sure as heck was getting flash backs of last year and was upset at Miles. It's not about who was the best QB for the situation, anyone could have rushed it in from the half yard line. He's been here long enough to know how the fans are and if he's going to be upset that the fans did what they did then he should be upset at himself for putting JJ in that position. If JJ comes in after being up by 3 scores he'd have been cheered. Instead it was bad timing and the fans voiced their frustration and FEAR. Can you imagine if JJ somehow didn't make the TD? Or with all the subbing if we'd have been called for a 12th man? Or they had called us on a false start? JJ had some serious divine intervention on that play. But it doesn't change the fact Miles put him in a position to fail. Much like he did with Lee later in the game on 3rd and 6.
