All LSU fans will be sorry to hear of the death of John Ferguson. For years he was the "Voice of the Tigers." I grew up listening to him give the play-by-play of each LSU game. While he had his critics, he bled purple-and-gold, and his loss will be keenly felt by those who rememer him.
My first exposure to LSU football was listening to John & Walter on Saturday nights. SabanFan nailed it, John will alwasy be the voice of the Tigers. RIP John.
Like so many, my first exposure to :helmet: was threw his voice on the radio. RIP. Here's Doug Moreau, Dan Borne, Walter Hill, and John Ferguson at the 2003 Bayou Bash.
Like others i grew up listening to John Ferguson doing the Tiger games. KWKH in Shreveport and He is and always will be The Voice Of The Tigers to me. Thanks John for the memories and God Bless You. LSU has lost a legend .
I've never heard a game broadcast by him but from hearing comments of others about him over the years, along with some of his commentary on tapes it is obvious what a great loss this is to the LSU community. For those of you like me who only know of him, take time to read the article about him today on lsusports.net. A great read on his life.
Ferguson also raised a TON of money for the TAF since his retirement right up until he was hospitalized a month ago. The guy was Tiger.
Heard the "voice of the Tigers" 100 miles short of the Cal. coastline, returning from Hawaii on a DC-10. I was tuning the ADF's in the cockpit and heard "that voice", immediately knew what I had. Never another like him.:geauxtige
