How old is he? Maybe he's simply not interested in a head coaching job??? Seems to me, that a coordinator job at a major power is as cushion as you can possibly get? You know he's WELL paid and he doesn't need to worry about handling all the "stuff" a HC does. He can just sit quietly in the background and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
54. About Les' age. I don't think he wants a head coaching gig. It's just not in his blood. He loves what he does.
Was very happy when Miles hired him... and very impressed with what he's done with the team. Just don't start calling him 'Big Chief' or I'll dissolve into giggles every time he's mentioned.
What hes done is made a great defense. He has so many players getting involved. Looking at stats, 18 players have a TFL, 7 have sacks and 29 players have stats on the defensive side of the line. Overall we have played 71 players, 9 being walkons in the first three games.
The defensive players listen to the CHIEF, thats all that matters. He starves them before each game and then cuts them loose for dinner on the next oponent. Pow Wow on there sorry heads. Keep there minds focused and pushing towards a NC baby ! Geaux Tigers !
That is just amazing.Being able to play some many players kind of tells me about the impressive depth of the team without much drop-off between the first and second teamers. That also works well in other ways, both in maintaining fresh legs, and being attractive to highly ranked prospects in considering LSU (and continuing fueling the "goon" LSU defense). I am also getting to be impressed with the defensive coaching team that was put together; this year this team seems to start to show the true results of their coaching efforts.
Alright, you asked for it. I warned you.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_KMkKecThg]Cowboy Way ( Big Cheif ) - YouTube[/ame]
