    Didn't he say a while back that he is comfortable being a DC and not really desiring to be a head guy? Seems like if he wanted to do that he would have plenty of opportunities by now.

    I think Chavis is quite happy where he is, esp. with the fantastic recruiting machine we have at LSU. He should be thrilled with the D team he has now under him.

    This. He's stated how he's never had recruiting possibilities like he has at LSU.

    Yes, he has said in the past that he is not interested in a HC job. He could be here really long term.

    he's alluded to this before in some interview, i can't recall. he said something along the lines of wanting to be at LSU for a very long time. as long as these blue chippers keep putting on LSU hats on signing day, we will always be relevant with Chavis at the helm of this D.

    and he's possibly the highest paid coordinator (offense or defense) in the country

    and likely to get a raise, especially if we win a NC because of our defense

    The best decision ever made by miles was the hiring of the chief. If miles decides to leave I would hope that the chief would get a chance. He is an amazing coach.
